Felt Rose Mini Frame

I had this mini frame which was cute but it had no pop to it.  So, I grabbed some felt and decided to make a mini felt roses and attach it around the frame and I think it turned out beautifully ...

Here's a quick tutorial on how I did it...

Cut small felt circles.  Does not need to be perfect circles.
Fold circle in half and start rolling from one end.  Glue together.
Glue onto the frame.

See ... wasn't that easy?  Now it has some "pop" to it!

How to make T-Shirt Yarn

Have you seen those fettuccini or zpaghetti yarns?  Have you seen their prices? Wow! All they are are just jersey fabric cut into strips.  Jersey fabric = t-shirts!  So if you have t-shirts you are no longer using, here's a great way to recycle them!  Make them into t-shirt yarns to knit or crochet with.  How much fun will that be!  All the things you can create!!

Here is a link to a fantastic tutorial on how to make t-shirt yarn by MaDonna Sheehy from Shirts.com.  http://www.shirts.com/blog/p-487-DIY-t-shirt-yarn.aspx

Toxic Free DIY Dryer Sheets

Hello again!

So besides crafting, I'm also really into the a natural way of living.  I try (keyword - TRY) to avoid chemicals as much as possible.  It's not easy as it is in everything around us, but I try to minimize the exposure to it for myself and the kids.

Well, I found this recipe for a DIY dryer sheet that is chemical free ... so natural, and it is supposed to leave your clothes softer and smelling better (depending on the essential oil scent you use).  I haven't tried this myself but it intrigued me enough to share it with you and I do plan on making it and trying it out.  If you try it before me, can you let me know how it worked for you?

You'll save so much money with homemade dryer sheets! #eco:

I'm a new addict to crochet - Slouch Hat

Ok.  So on my last post (back in October - eek), I showed you guys Star Wars crochet items.  Well, guess who got hooked on all things crochet.  Me!!!  Now I also hoard yarn.  Oh my!  It's fun to crochet but truth be told, I'm still inpatient. I have no interest in making huge blankets or clothes ... takes too long.  I like something that finishes up quick and with crochet, really, nothing is quick.  So maybe I should say, works up quicker.  So I make smaller items which I will be sharing with you.

Here's one of the first bigger, but quicker projects that I made.  It's a slouch hat for my lil' man.  I think it turned out pretty well for a newbie.  What do you think?

Thanks for looking!  Feel free to comment but please be nice! :-)
